Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter or 1/2 butter and 1/2 Crisco
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 c. sifted flour
  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

    Mix butter, sugar and eggs thoroughly.

    Sift dry ingredients together.

    Stir into first mixture.

    Chill.

    Shape into walnut size balls.

    Roll in mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon.

    Place 2-inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

    Bake at 400° until lightly browned but still soft, 8 to 10 minutes.
