Ingredients

  • 2 c. soft margarine
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 5 1/2 c. flour
  • 4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 4 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

    Mix margarine, sugar and eggs thoroughly.

    Sift together the flour, cream of tartar and soda.

    Mix together with margarine mixture until well blended.

    Roll into balls the size of small walnuts.

    Roll balls in mixture of sugar and cinnamon.

    Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.

    Bake at 400° for 8 to 10 minutes, until brown but still soft.

    Dough may need to be refrigerated awhile to handle better.

    Yields about 10 dozen.
