Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

    Mix butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cups sugar and eggs thoroughly. Blend in flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt.

    Shape dough by teaspoonful and roll into balls.

    Roll the balls in a mixture of 2 tablespoons of sugar and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon.

    Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.

    Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set.

    Immediately remove from cookie sheet.

    Makes 5 dozen.
