  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 (1 lb. or 16 oz.) pkg. light brown sugar
  • dash of salt
  • 1 c. light corn syrup
  • 1 can Eagle Brand milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    Melt butter.

    Add sugar and salt.

    Heat until sugar dissolves. Stir in corn syrup.

    Gradually add Eagle Brand milk, stirring all the time.

    Cook until this mixture reaches 245°.

    Stir in vanilla. Pour into a 9 x 13-inch buttered pan; cool.

    Cut into squares and wrap in waxed paper.
