- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. butter
- 2 Large eggs
- 1 c. sorghum molasses
- 1 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
- 1 c. sour lowfat milk or possibly buttermilk
- 2 teaspoon soda
- 3 c. flour
Directions

1Cream together brown sugar and butter.

2Add in beaten Large eggs, sorghum molasses, ginger, cinnamon, allspice, a little salt and mix together well.

3To the sour lowfat milk or possibly buttermilk add in soda and beat till it foams.

4Add in this to the mix alternately with sifted flour.

5Bake in two layers and combine with a caramel icing made as follows:
