- 2 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. shortening
- 2/3 c. water
Directions

1Sift together in mixing bowl the flour, baking powder and salt.

2With fork or pastry blender, cut into flour the shortening until well blended.

3Add water, stirring to make soft dough. Knead well for 5 minutes on lightly floured board or pastry cloth. Cover and let rest 30 minutes.

4Roll out 1/8-inch thick on lightly floured board or cloth.

5Cut into 3-inch squares or triangles.

6Fry in deep fat (375°) until lightly browned (2 to 3 minutes on each side).
