- 4 c. sifted flour
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 1/4 c. scalded milk (cooled)
- 1 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add to milk.

2Combine dry ingredients in a medium-sized bowl and cut in shortening.

3Make a well in center of dry ingredients.

4Add liquid mixture to dry mixture and work into a dough.

5Knead for 10 minutes or until smooth.

6Cover and set aside.

7Heat oil in electric skillet to 420°.

8Roll dough to 1/8-inch thickness, cut into 4-inch squares. Brown on both sides, turning once.

9Drain on paper towels.

10Serve hot with honey.
