- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. warm water
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1 Tbsp. shortening
Directions

1In a mixing bowl, stir together flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening well.

2Gradually add water, stirring with fork until it becomes crumbly.

3On a lightly floured board, knead dough for a few minutes or until it is smooth.

4Divide dough in half. Cover and let rise for 15 minutes.

5Roll half the dough into a 12 1/2 x 10-inch rectangle.

6Using a fluted pastry wheel, cut 2 1/2 inch squares from each half.

7Don't reuse leftover dough.

8Fry squares in hot oil for 35 seconds on each side.

9Drain on paper towels.

10Sprinkle powdered sugar and drizzle honey on top.

11Serve while warm.
