Sour Cream Pecans

  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 2 1/2 c. pecan halves
  • 1/8 tsp. salt

Directions

    In a heavy saucepan, mix the sugar, sour cream and salt. Bring to a boil and cool, stirring until a small amount forms a soft ball when dropped in very cold water.

    Remove from heat and add vanilla. Beat until the mixture begins to thicken and loses its gloss.

    Add the nuts and stir quickly to coat on all sides. Turn out on a greased cookie sheet and separate with 2 forks.

    Can stir in 1 teaspoon cinnamon when ready to heat mixture.
