- 1 c. granulated sugar
- 1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2/3 c. commercial sour cream
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Combine sugar and cream; heat to boiling, stirring until sugars are dissolved.

2Add butter; cover and cook over low heat 3 or 4 minutes.

3This dissolves any sugar crystals on the sides of the pan and keeps the candy from sugaring.

4Remove cover and boil to 236° (soft ball).

5Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.

6Add vanilla and beat until creamy.

7Stir in chopped nuts.

8Turn into greased pan and let stand until firm.

9Cut into squares.

10Makes 1 1/2 dozen large pieces or 1 1/3 pounds.
