Ingredients
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1 1/2 c. warm water
- 1 c. Sourdough Starter
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 6 c. flour
- 1/2 c. soda
Directions

1In large mixer bowl, soften yeast in warm water.

2Blend in Sourdough Starter, salt and sugar.

3Add 2 1/2 cups flour.

4Beat 4 minutes with electric mixer.

5Cover; let rise until light and bubbly, about 1 1/2 hours.

6Combine soda and 2 1/2 cups flour; stir in dough.

7Add enough flour to make a stiff dough.

8Turn out on floured board and knead 5 to 7 minutes.

9Divide dough in half. Cover and let rise 10 minutes.

10Shape into 2 round loaves.

11Place on slightly greased baking sheet.

12With sharp knife, cut slashes across top.

13Let rise 1 1/2 hours.

14Bake at 400° for 35 minutes.
