- 3/4 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. instant potato flakes
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1 c. warm water (120~ to 130~)
- Starter Food
Directions

1Combine first 3 ingredients in a small mixing bowl.

2Stir in warm water.

3Cover with plastic wrap; cut 4 or 5 small holes with a sharp knife.

4Refrigerate 3 to 5 days.

5Remove starter from refrigerator; let starter stand at room temperature 1 hour.

6Stir well.

7Remove 1 cup starter; use in a recipe or give to a friend. Prepare 1 recipe Starter Food and stir into remaining starter; let stand, uncovered, 8 to 12 hours.

8Cover with plastic wrap; cut 4 or 5 holes in wrap.

9Refrigerate 3 to 5 days.

10Repeat 3 times.

11Use all or discard after 4 feedings.
