- 2 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2/3 c. milk
Directions

1Sift dry ingredients into bowl.

2Cut shortening in flour and mix with pastry blender.

3(Will be coarse.)

4Stir in milk and mix until dough leaves sides of bowl.

5Pour out onto floured board and gently roll or pat to 1/4-inch thick or 1/2-inch for thicker biscuits.

6Place on lightly greased cookie sheet, close for soft sides and 1-inch apart for crusty sides.

7Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 450° or until desired brownness.
