- 2 c. flour
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 2/3 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Heat oven to 450°.

2Measure flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and soda in a bowl.

3Cut in shortening until mixture is the consistency of cornmeal.

4Stir in the buttermilk.

5Dough needs to be pliable and easy to roll.

6If dough is too sticky, add a little flour at a time.

7Roll out dough on a floured surface and knead lightly.

8Cut biscuits and place on a buttered pan.

9Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown.
