Southern Pecan Pie

  • 3 eggs
  • dash of salt
  • 1/3 c. melted butter
  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 1 c. dark Karo corn syrup
  • 1 1/2 c. whole pecans

Directions

    Beat eggs thoroughly with sugar, salt, syrup and melted butter.

    Place pecans in bottom of shell and pour mixture over them.

    Allow to sit 3 to 5 minutes for pecans to come to the top. (Note:

    Be sure all pecans are wet with mixture or they will burn.)

    Bake at 350° for 50 minutes or until knife inserted halfway between center and edge of pie comes out clean.
