Ingredients
- 1/2 c. oil
- 1 lb. stew meat, cut in small pieces
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, cut fine
- 1 Tbsp. chili powder
- 3 bay leaves
- 1/4 tsp. each: marjoram, thyme and allspice
- 1 large (No. 2 1/2) can whole tomatoes
- salt and pepper
- 1 large can mushrooms and liquid
Directions

1Heat oil in a large frying pan or Dutch oven and brown cubes of meat.

2When browned, add onion, garlic, spices, tomatoes, salt and pepper to taste.

3Cook slowly 2 or 3 hours, adding water as needed. When meat is tender, add mushrooms and liquid plus enough water to make 1 to 1 1/2 quarts of sauce.

4Thicken slightly with flour and water paste.

5Cook 1/2 to 1 pound spaghetti.

6Pour sauce over spaghetti.

7Serve with Parmesan cheese.
