- 2 large cans peeled Italian tomatoes
- 2 cans tomato paste
- 2 green peppers
- 3 lb. ground beef
- 1 lb. hot Italian sausage
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 onion, cut up
Directions

1Saute cut up sausage in oil.

2After 5 minutes, add green peppers (sliced), onion and garlic.

3Cook about 5 minutes longer, until the onion is transparent.

4Put tomatoes through food mill, then add the sauteed ingredients to the tomatoes.

5Add salt; simmer slowly, stirring from bottom about every 1/2 hour.

6Meat balls are browned quickly, then put in the sauce 1/2 hour before end of cooking period.

7The sauce should simmer 2 1/2 hours.
