- 4 ounces, weight Dried Spaghetti
- 1 Tablespoon Butter Or Margarine
- 1 whole Egg, Beaten
- 1 teaspoon Dried Basil
- 1/4 cups Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 8 ounces, weight Ground Beef Or Bulk Italian Sausage
- 1/2 cups Chopped Onion (1 Medium)
- 1/2 cups Chopped Green Sweet Pepper
- 1 whole Clove Garlic, Minced
- 1 can (12 Oz. Size) Diced Tomatoes
- 1 can (8 Oz. Size) Tomato Sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dried Basil
- 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano, Crushed
- Nonstick Cooking Spray
- 1 cup Low-fat Cottage Cheese, Drained
- 1/2 cups Shredded Part-skim Mozzarella Cheese
Directions

1Cook spaghetti according to package directions.

2Drain.

3Return spaghetti to warm saucepan.

4Stir butter into hot pasta until melted.

5Stir in egg, basil and Parmesan cheese; set aside.

6Meanwhile, in a medium skillet cook ground beef, onion, sweet pepper, and garlic until meat is brown and onion is tender.

7Drain.

8Stir in, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, basil and oregano; heat through.

9Coat a casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray.

10Press spaghetti mixture onto bottom and up sides of pie plate, forming a crust.

11Spread cottage cheese on the top and up the sides of pasta crust.

12Spread meat mixture over cottage cheese.

13Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.

14Bake in a 350 degree F oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until bubbly and heated through.

15To serve, cut into wedges.
