Ingredients
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced or 1 tsp. minced garlic
- 2 (28 oz. each) cans tomatoes
- 2 (6 oz. each) cans tomato paste
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 2 tsp. sweet basil, crushed
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 1 lb. spaghetti
- 4 to 6 qt. boiling water
Directions

1In a large saucepot or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef, onions and garlic until beef is brown and onions are tender (about 5 minutes). Stir frequently. Drain off excess fat.

2Stir in undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, 1 tablespoon salt, basil, sugar and chili powder.

3Heat to boiling.

4Reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
