  • 1/2 bushel tomatoes (9 qt. juice)
  • 3 lb. onion, chopped
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. salt
  • 2 c. vegetable oil
  • 2 Tbsp. oregano
  • 2 Tbsp. basil leaves
  • 4 (12 oz.) cans tomato paste
  • 4 pods sweet pepper, chopped

    Cook tomatoes and make juice.

    Mix all ingredients and cook 1 hour.

    Yield: 22 pints or 11 quarts.
