Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 5 c. crushed tomatoes (canned)
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/4 tsp. basil
  • 1/4 tsp. oregano
  • 1/4 tsp. thyme
  • 2 Tbsp. minced parsley
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 tsp. salt (optional or to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper

Directions

    In a Dutch oven, using olive oil, saute onion and garlic.

    Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, basil, oregano, thyme, parsley, bay leaves, salt and pepper.

    Cover the pot and simmer over low heat for 1 hour.

    Stir occasionally.

    Serve with favorite pasta.
