Spanish Rice

  • 1/2 lb. rice
  • 1/2 qt. tomatoes
  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 can tomato sauce or 3-inches of catsup from bottle (to give color)

Directions

    Fry onion and hamburger together.

    Cook rice in salt water 4 or 5 minutes or until tender.

    Drain off excess water.

    Pour rice and tomatoes in skillet and let simmer for about 1/2 hour or put in oven at 325° or 350°; bake until almost dry.
