Ingredients
- 4 Tbsp. butter or bacon fat
- 1 c. rice, uncooked
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. paprika
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 4 c. canned tomatoes
- 1 c. stock
- 1/2 lb. ground beef
Directions

1Heat the frying pan.

2Add butter and brown the onion and celery.

3Remove and add the rice.

4Cook until brown, stirring constantly.

5In a separate kettle, heat the tomatoes with the seasoning and the stock, then add the rice, onion and celery. Simmer slowly over a low fire until rice is tender, about 1/2 hour, stirring occasionally with a fork to prevent sticking.

6Fifteen minutes before serving, fry the hamburg which has been shaped into small balls and add to rice.
