- 1 c. brown rice
- 1/3 c. Crisco
- 1/4 c. onion, chopped
- 1/4 c. tomato sauce
- 1 small garlic clove, minced
- 3 c. chicken broth or 3 c. water with 4 chicken bouillon cubes
Directions

1Place brown rice in skillet with Crisco; cook until golden brown.

2Add onion, tomato sauce and garlic.

3Cook for 1 minute. Add broth; bring to a simmer.

4Cover and cook for about 35 minutes or until tender.

5Makes about 3 cups cooked rice.
