- 2 Tbsp. bacon drippings or oil
- 1 1/2 c. uncooked long grain rice
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 2 to 3 c. water
- 1/4 tsp. garlic salt or 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp. onion salt or 1 small onion, minced
Directions

1Heat bacon drippings or oil over medium heat in large skillet. Add rice, stirring constantly, until rice is browned.

2Be careful not to burn rice.

3Turn burner off.

4Add tomato sauce, water and salts or garlic and onion.

5Cover immediately.

6Simmer over low heat until all liquid is evaporated and rice, onion and garlic are tender, 25 to 30 minutes.

7Add more water if necessary to prevent drying.

8Serve immediately.

9Makes 4 to 6 (1/2 cup) servings.
