- 1 c. uncooked rice
- 1/4 c. margarine
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 2 c. stewed tomatoes with juice
- 1/2 medium green pepper, diced
- 1 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- 1 c. water
Directions

1Heat margarine in saucepan; add onion and green pepper.

2Cook and stir over high heat until light brown.

3Add tomatoes, water, salt and pepper.

4Bring to boil gently.

5Cover tightly; lower heat and simmer gently 30 minutes.

6If desired, you may add hamburger and bacon bits before cooking.
