Spanish Skillet Rice

  • 3/4 c. regular rice
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 c. tomatoes
  • 1 c. water
  • 2/3 c. chili sauce
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 c. chopped green pepper

    Cook meat, onion and garlic.

    Drain.

    Stir in rest of ingredients.

    Cover and simmer 35 to 40 minutes.

    Add more water, if it becomes dry before the rice is cooked.

    Toss before serving. Use an electric frying pan to cook the Spanish rice in and you can control the simmering heat better.
