- 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
- 2 (1 lb.) cans yellow wax beans, drained
- 2 to 3 thin slices bacon
- 1 small to medium onion, chopped
- 1 to 3 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1Cut bacon into small 1-inch pieces; cook in heavy pan until crisp.

2Add chopped onion and saute.

3Drain off bacon grease.

4Add tomatoes and juice.

5Chop in pan; simmer and add beans after draining off liquid, to tomato mixture.

6Stir gently; let simmer until juice is like a thin paste.

7Add sugar last; stir in.

8Taste and add more, if you like a sweeter taste.

9Simmer and stir gently and often, because it could scorch as the juice thickens.

10Allow at least 2 hours to make this dish.
