- 4 c. speckled butter beans
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 piece celery, sliced
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1 c. tomatoes, cut in small pieces
- 1 c. water
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 1 carrot, chopped
Directions

1Heat butter in large heavy saucepan.

2Cook onion, carrots and celery until softened, but not browned, about 5 minutes.
