  • 2 small cans asparagus tips
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 or more sticks cinnamon
  • 2/3 c. dark vinegar
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. celery seed

Directions

    Drain asparagus and put in a shallow glass serving dish. Measure spices and add to other ingredients in a saucepan.

    Heat slowly until sugar is completely dissolved, 5 to 10 minutes. Pour, while hot, over asparagus.

    Put in refrigerator until ready to serve.

    Drain.

    Best when left for 24 hours.
