  • 1/2 c. light brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. powdered cinnamon
  • 1/2-inch stick whole cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. powdered cloves
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 c. shelled pecan halves
  • pinch of salt

Directions

    Mix dry ingredients; add water.

    Boil until a few drops of syrup harden as soon as dropped in a little ice water.

    Remove from fire and add nuts.

    Stir fast until mixture begins to sugar. Try to coat all nuts evenly.

    Pour out on waxed paper and break apart.

    Discard cinnamon stick.
