- 3 quarts peaches pears or crabapples
- 1 pint white vinegar
- 4 cups sugar
- 1 pint water
- 3 each cinnamon sticks
- 1 teaspoon cloves whole
Directions

1Prepare fruit, and tie spices in a cheesecloth bag.

2Combine sugar, vinegar, water and spices.

3Bring to a boil.

4Boil ten minutes and then drop in fruit.

5Cook until partly tender, but not soft or easily pierced.

6Remove fruit from syrup and pack in hot scalded jars.

7Remove the spices and pour syrup over fruit to fill jars to 1/2 inch of the top.

8Process in a boiling water bath.
