Spinach Appetizer

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. Knorr or Mrs. Grass vegetable soup mix (dry)
  • 1 c. water chestnuts, diced
  • 2 to 4 green onions, chopped fine
  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 pkg. frozen spinach, chopped, thawed and squeezed dry (may use 10 to 16 oz. fresh spinach, chopped coarsely)
  • 1 c. mayonnaise

Directions

    Mix all ingredients and let stand several hours or overnight. Right before serving, spoon into sourdough round loaf of bread that center has been cut out of.

    Cube bread from center of loaf and use this to dip into spinach mixture.
