  • 2 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 c. butter or margarine, softened
  • 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. finely chopped onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 to 5 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled (reserve 1 Tbsp. bacon drippings)
  • 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
  • 1 c. cottage cheese
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1 egg, beaten

    In large bowl beat together cream cheese and butter with electric mixer until smooth.

    Gradually beat in flour and salt.

    Knead dough lightly by hand.

    Cover dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate 3 hours.
