Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 bananas
  • 1/2 gal. vanilla ice cream
  • 1 c. walnuts
  • 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 2 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 qt. Cool Whip
  • 1 box vanilla wafers

Directions

    Cover bottom of two 9 x 13-inch pans with crushed wafers. Slice bananas over wafers. Slice ice cream in 1/2-inch slices over bananas. Sprinkle nuts on top. Freeze until firm.

    Melt chocolate chips and butter together. Add powdered sugar and milk.

    Cook until smooth and thick, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add vanilla.

    Cool.

    Pour over ice cream when cool and then freeze again.

    Cover with Cool Whip and freeze. Before serving, sprinkle with nuts and top with cherries.
