- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1/2 c. diced onion
- 1/2 c. diced carrot
- 1/2 c. diced celery
- 1 c. diced smoked ham or turkey
- 4 c. water
- 2 c. chicken broth
- 1 1/2 c. green split peas, rinsed
- 1/2 tsp. dried rosemary
- 1/4 tsp. dried thyme
Directions

1Heat oil over medium heat.

2Add onion, carrot and celery; cook, stirring occasionally, 8 to 10 minutes or until softened. Add ham; cook stirring, until heated through, 2 to 3 minutes.

3Add water, broth, split peas, rosemary, thyme, bay leaf and pepper to onion.

4Simmer 50 minutes or until peas are tender.

5Remove bay leaf before serving.
