- 1 qt. sliced yellow squash
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- pepper
- poultry seasoning
- slivered almonds
- Ritz cracker crumbs
- 1 can mushroom soup
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/2 to 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
Directions

1Stew squash and onion in salted water until tender.

2Drain, mash and add butter and a dash of black pepper.

3Pour one-half of mixture into buttered baking dish.

4Cover with cracker crumbs. Sprinkle with poultry seasoning and slivered almonds.

5Repeat layers.

6Dilute mushroom soup with milk and pour over top. Sprinkle with Cheddar cheese and place in medium oven until cheese is lightly browned.
