Squash Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. shredded raw squash
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 or 5 strips fried bacon, drained
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 c. fine bread crumbs
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 c. grated sharp cheese

Directions

    Saute onion in small amount of bacon drippings.

    Crumble bacon and mix with onions, squash, bread crumbs, milk and seasonings. Add cheese, saving a bit to sprinkle on top.

    Place in casserole dish and bake in medium oven for about 1 hour.
