Squash Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. bacon drippings or oil
  • 5 to 6 medium squash, cooked
  • 3 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 slices bread, torn into small pieces
  • 1 egg, well beaten

Directions

    Saute onion in bacon drippings until soft.

    Drain squash thoroughly.

    Mash. Add onion, drippings, crumbled bacon, salt, pepper, bread and egg.

    Mix well.

    Pour into baking dish. Bake in a 350° oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
