- 2 lb. squash, diced
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 stick margarine, melted
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 1/2 c. bread, torn into small pieces
- 1 1/2 c. sharp cheese, grated
Directions

1Cook squash and onion.

2Drain well.

3In bowl, beat eggs and add remaining ingredients, except bread and cheese.

4In buttered 2-quart shallow casserole dish, layer bread, squash and cheese. Repeat each layer.

5Top with remaining bread.

6Dot with butter. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 45 minutes.
