Squash Dressing

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. yellow squash
  • 1 small onion
  • 1/2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1/2 c. self-rising corn meal
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 stick margarine, melted

Directions

    Grate squash and onion on large section of grater.

    Mix all other ingredients, except margarine, in a 375° oven.

    Place a slightly greased iron skillet or casserole dish in oven until almost smoking hot.

    (It is very important to do it this way or it will not brown properly.)

    Remove from oven and pour melted margarine over top.
  6. 6
    Cook until brown, (375° for 45 minutes to 1 hour).
