- 8 c. squash
- 2 c. chopped onions
- 2 large peppers
- 1/4 tsp. alum
- 3 c. sugar
- 2 c. vinegar
- 2 tsp. celery seed
- 2 tsp. mustard seed
- 2 Tbsp. pickling spice, tied in a bag
Directions

1Soak squash, onions and peppers in alum and ice water for 30 minutes.

2Drain, but do not rinse.

3Bring sugar, vinegar, celery seed, mustard seed and pickling spice to a boil.

4Add squash, onions and peppers and boil for 5 minutes.

5Put in clean canning jars and process in a hot water bath for 5 minutes.
