Ingredients

  • 2 lb. beef stew meat, cubed
  • 1 can tiny peas (if you like them)
  • 1 c. sliced carrots
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 can cream of celery or mushroom or tomato, thinned with 1/2 can water
  • 1 big raw potato, sliced
  • 1 piece bay leaf
  • 2 c. chopped onions
  • dash of pepper

Directions

    Mix these ingredients together in a casserole dish that has a tight lid.

    Put the lid on and put the casserole in a 275° oven. Cooks by itself and is done in 5 hours.

    Stir well before serving. Makes 5 to 6 servings.
