  • 3 large potatoes, sliced thick
  • 2 to 3 pieces round steak
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 to 1 1/4 c. buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. marjoram

    Put sliced potatoes in water to soak while browning meat.

    Add the onion and brown slightly.

    Drain potatoes and put potatoes and onion in bottom of casserole.

    Layer the steak on top.

    Mix buttermilk, soup and spices; pour over steak-potato mixture.

    Bake in 350°

    oven for 1 hour, or until meat is tender.
