Strawberry Tea Bread

Ingredients
- 2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1/2 c. Karo light corn syrup
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 pt. strawberries, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Grease 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.

3In small bowl, stir together flour, baking powder and salt.

4In large bowl with mixer at medium speed, beat margarine until softened.

5Add corn syrup and sugar to margarine; beat until smooth.

6Add eggs. With mixer at low speed, beat in strawberries and vanilla.

7With wooden spoon, stir flour mixture into strawberry mixture just until moistened.

8Stir in walnuts.

9Turn into loaf pan.

10Bake 1 hour or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes and remove from pan.

11Bread slices best on second day.
