  • 1 whole cabbage
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 c. fat
  • 2 Tbsp. tomato
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp. chopped, fresh or dried mint
  • 3/4 c. rice (uncooked)
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 1 1/2 lb. pork, ground
  • 2 or 3 slices bacon
  • 1 c. tomato juice

    Cut cabbage around stem end with knife.

    Put stem end down into a kettle.

    Cover with boiling water.

    Add salt and boil, uncovered, 10 minutes.

    Remove; drain.

    Let cool.
