- 12 cabbage leaves
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/3 c. rice
- 1/3 c. fresh parsley
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1/2 c. chopped onions
- 2 cans diced tomatoes with juice
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. thyme
- 1/4 tsp. basil
Directions

1Drop cabbage leaves into boiling hot water and let stand until softened.

2Combine ground beef, rice, parsley, salt and pepper. Mix well and form into balls (12).

3Roll meatballs into softened cabbage leaves and fasten with toothpicks.
