Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

  • 12 cabbage leaves
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/3 c. rice
  • 1/3 c. fresh parsley
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/2 c. chopped onions
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes with juice
  • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. thyme
  • 1/4 tsp. basil

Directions

    Drop cabbage leaves into boiling hot water and let stand until softened.

    Combine ground beef, rice, parsley, salt and pepper. Mix well and form into balls (12).

    Roll meatballs into softened cabbage leaves and fasten with toothpicks.
