Ingredients
- 6 large mirlitons
- 2 large onions
- 3 ribs celery
- 1 bell pepper
- 1 bunch green onions
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 Tbsp. parsley
- 1 tsp. thyme
- 1 bay leaf
- 3 lb. shrimp
- 2 large slices ham, diced
- Italian bread crumbs
- salt and pepper to taste
- oil
Directions

1Peel mirlitons and boil until tender.

2Save some of the water. Put vegetables in pot and cook to clear in oil.

3Add ham and saute.

4Put cooked mirlitons in pot and cook for about 1 hour slowly.

5Put shrimp in pot and cook until shrimp turn pink.

6Add some of the mirliton water to pot and then cook for 1/2 hour.

7Add enough bread crumbs to make stuffing stiff.

8Add salt and pepper to taste.

9Add 1/2 stick butter and stir well.

10Place in casserole dish.

11Sprinkle with bread crumbs and dot with butter.

12Cook in oven at 250° to 300° until hot.
