Stuffed Peppers

  • 4 medium green peppers
  • 1 lb. ground chuck
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can tomato soup
  • 1 c. cooked rice
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 2 slices mild process or Swiss cheese, cut in strips

Directions

    Remove tops and seeds from peppers; cut in half.

    In skillet, brown beef and cook onion until tender.

    Stir in 1 cup soup, rice and seasonings.

    Spoon meat mixture into peppers.

    Place in 1 1/2-quart casserole.

    Dilute remaining soup and pour over peppers. Cover and bake at 375° for 30 minutes or until peppers are done. Remove cover and top with cheese strips.

    Bake about 5 minutes or until cheese melts.
