Stuffed Round Steak

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. round steak
- 8 oz. can sliced mushrooms
- 1 medium onion, chopped fine
- 1 c. bread crumbs
- 2 Tbsp. oleo
- 1/4 tsp. sage
- salt and pepper to taste
- flour
- salt
- oil
- 1/4 c. water (add more as needed)
Directions

1Drain the liquid from mushrooms.

2Combine with onion and bread crumbs.

3Brown in oleo; add 1/4 teaspoon sage, salt and pepper. Flatten steak to 1/4 to 1/3-inch thick.

4Spread mixture over meat and roll up, jelly roll style.

5Fasten with skewers or string around roll and ends.

6Roll steak in flour, season with salt and brown in hot oil in skillet or Dutch oven.

7Add 1/4 cup water; cover and bake at 325° for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until tender.

8Add water as needed.

9Make gravy to serve over steak.

10If the steak is large, you can make two rolls, which is easier to handle for browning.
